Father’s Day gift ideas for long distance daddies.
Spending Father’s Day away from your dad can be tough, but there are lots of ways to make the day special. All it takes is a little creativity and a few simple ideas to get started.
We’ll supply the ideas, and you supply the creativity. Deal?
Here are a few of our favorites –
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Pick out a frame and a favorite photo of you and your dad. Box it with bubble wrap and send it on its way. Dad will have a constant reminder that you’re thinking of him on Father’s Day and beyond.
Take him to the movies.
You may be miles apart, but you can still enjoy a movie together. Rent or go to the theater and watch the same movie at roughly the same time. You can call each other before and after to talk about it, just like you would if you were together.
Mail him a gift.
Everybody loves getting a gift in the mail, especially when it’s something they love. These days, your options are virtually unlimited, but sometimes the fastest way to his heart is through his stomach.
Give him a call.
It’s a classic, the old Father’s Day phone call. Why not dress it up this year by doing a video chat? Or better yet, if you have siblings, arrange a video conference on Skype or Google Hangouts.
Treat him to dinner.
Most dads are fans of good food. Send him a gift card to his favorite restaurant. And if you can afford it, make sure there’s enough money on the card to cover dinner + tip for two.
Do we have your creative juices flowing? Well get out there and make it the best long distance Father’s Day ever!
