Tsk Tsk Cake Boss

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

I’m all about giving away cakes and making people feel good, but at a recent event in Philly the Cake Boss’ own Buddy V. was handing out cakes and making people wait in line for HOURS! One man, who cut the line and went to storage (to take one of thousands of cakes – as there were more than enough to go around), was arrested by police (ok, ok, he also stole a laptop). In fact, the police released a statement how the event caused bad blood… people were cutting, fighting in line and causing quite a commotion. NO WONDER! Stand a bunch of hungry sweet-tooths in a line, make them wait, and starve, then see what happens. It’s a recipe for disaster.

By the way – there’s NEVER a line at, where you can have your cake order done in only 5 minutes and schedule your cake delivery whenever you please. :)

Blogger Reviews of Bake Me A Wish! Cakes – Another Chance to WIN!!

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

We’ve had several bloggers receive cakes this month to give us their honest opinions on what they thought of our gifts and service. Once again – we’ve received accolades! Take a moment to read the reviews yourself and find out how you can with the cake of your choice! Remember we’re perfect for birthday cake delivery & holidays cakes!

I was able to receive their delicious chocolate mousse torte cake to review that is pictured above! This cake is honestly to die for! It’s some of the best I’ve ever had! My mouth is watering just remembering it. I was very impressed with Bake Me A Wish all around. The cake arrived in perfect condition, in an adorable box. The cake just looked delicious! The cake actually arrived at my house while I was on campus. I had to force my parents to not eat it until after I had a chance to get home and take pictures! Haha! I’m so evil! : )

I had the chance to experience first hand just how amazing Bake Me A Wish! Cakes really are.
My Bake Me A Wish experience started when my cake arrived fast and packaged so that my cake would be in the same condition as it was shipped. I opened the shipping package to find Bake Me A Wish!’s beautiful signature gift box. Inside the signature gift box was a scrumptious Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake. (EDITORS NOTE: FREE 2-DAY SHIPPING ALL MONTH LONG!)

Hi Everyone – our friend Deanna over at took time out of her busy schedule to review our Chocolate Mousse Torte – seems she had trouble making it last!! :O) Here’s a quick excerpt; PLEASE visit her blog for the full review and your chance to win the cake of your choice (ends 10/27) – what are you waiting for!?

“I received the Chocolate Mousse Torte Cake to review. It was absolutely amazing! I am an extreme chocolate lover, so this was an excellent surprise. This moist chocolate cake was layered with chocolate mousse, covered in chocolate frosting and a dark chocolate glaze. There were chocolate rosettes on each slice and an edible belgian chocolate “Thank You” plaque was right on top. It came in refrigerated packaging and was ready to eat! We waited, we had not eaten dinner yet…”

That’s My Kinda Cookbook!

I’ve heard of these before:  Booze Cakes.  Liquor cakes.  Hmmm – never tried one before, but in a review on the Seattle Times, Tish Wells gives us a look at Kristina Castella and Terry Lee Stones new book, “Booze Cakes: Confections Spiked With Spirits, Wine, and Beer“.  Give a click on the link above to read Tish’s full review, but we’ve re-posted the recipe for Rum & Coke Whoppie Pies below.  I just HAVE to try and make these…. this might be an interesting Friday night after all….

Chocolate Soda Cakes:

½ cup unsalted butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup buttermilk

¼ cup cola

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

Fluffy Rum-spiked cream filling:

½ cup unsalted butter

1 cup marshmallow fluff

3 or 4 tablespoons of rum

2 cups confectioners’ sugar

1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar 3 to 5 minutes or until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, combine buttermilk and cola. Add it to creamed butter and egg mixture. Beat in flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3. Drop batter by the tablespoonful onto baking sheets, leaving plenty of room for the cakes to spread; bake 10 minutes. Let cool completely.

4. In a mixing bowl, beat together butter and marshmallow fluff until light and creamy. Mix in rum. Slowly beat in confectioners’ sugar, mixing until light and fluffy.

5. Sandwich a generous amount of filling between cooled cakes.
