Win a Magic Bar Brownie Cake!

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Heather over at SweetDeals4Moms served our Magic Bar Brownie cake to her son’s birthday and gave us a great review! We’re giving away a Magic Bar cake to one of her lucky readers – read on and click the link below to enter!

“Bake Me A Wish specializes in gourmet gift cakes and let me tell you, the Magic Bar Brownie was just that! When it was time to try the tasty treat, we were all delighted with the rich, sweet flavor. The texture was awesome with the semi-sweet and butterscotch morsels and coconut. Oh my. I am having a chocolatey flashback just talking about it. The Magic Bar Brownie also looks as good as it tastes. It came decorated with a chocolate “Happy Birthday” topper on it. My son was thrilled that he got to eat the pretty decoration.

The people at Bake Me A Wish are true professionals and have their timing down. In our case, the cake arrived the day before my son’s birthday. It was a truly impressive experience to say the least. Bake Me A Wish is invited to all of my birthday parties indefinitely.”

Catch The Drift Review and Giveaway

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Hi everyone – there’s only 5 days left for your chance to win one of our best selling cake – the Chocolate Mousse Torte from our new friend Mama Snow. We sent her a cake a couple of weeks ago and wanted to get her feedback – she did a very thorough review:

“With Easter coming up, Bake Me A Wish sent my family and I the Chocolate Mousse Torte. I am a huge chocolate fan and knew this would be the perfect cake for me to test out. I was told I would be receiving my cake on Wed. and sure enough, the cake was delivered on time! The box was marked to let the delivery man know how to handle it. Once I opened the box I noticed the careful thought that was put into packaging. There was a separate styrofoam box with a lid and inside that was a was an ice pack. The ice pack was still frozen and the whole box was very cool inside. Underneath the ice pack was a cover to protect the beautifully decorative box which held the cake. Everything was very tightly packed and kept the cake very cold. The cake itself looked like it was just made. I chose to freeze my cake and save it for the next week.

Now for the big question, “How did it taste”? “FANTASTIC”. I loved the cake. It was so rich and fresh tasting. My kids would have eaten the whole cake if I would have let them, but they had to share with mom :0) Even the plaque which said, “Happy Easter” was edible and made from imported Belgian chocolate.”

Win a Free Peanut Butter Mousse cake!

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

The Baby Lovin’ Mama LOVES Bake Me A Wish! cakes and reviewed our Peanut Butter Mousse.  We can only assume that from her son’s face that he really enjoyed the Peanut Butter Mousse Cake for his 2nd birthday!  Through Emilie’s blog, we’re giving away a free Peanut Butter Mousse to one of her lucky readers.  Click on her banner below to read her whole post and find out how you can win too!

“The chocolate cake was very moist and tasted great but what my entire family went nuts over was the decadent peanut butter mousse and fudge top. Super light and fluffy, the mousse was so sinful but oh so worth it. You definitely don’t need a large slice as the richness is best enjoyed in moderation. I remembered how wonderful the Belgian chocolate plaque tasted from our last Bake Me a Wish experience so I extremely disappointed when I found my husband and two little boys had eaten it all before I got back with the knife.  I guess they just couldn’t resist!”

King Cakes for Mardi Gras – only one week away!

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Mardi Gras is one week from tomorrow, and it simply would not be Carnival in New Orleans without the traditional King Cake!  If you’ve never heard of this delightful tradition, the King Cake is a rinkingg of twisted bread topped with icing or sugar, usually colored purple, green, and gold (the traditional Carnival colors) with food coloring. There are many variants, some with a filling, the most common being cream cheese and praline.  The tradition was brought over from France and Spain in the mid-18th century and  each cake includes a “trinket”, normally a small plastic or porcelain baby, baked inside to represent the King.   The person who receives the trinket in their slice of cake has to buy the next King Cake!

While Bake Me A Wish! does not offer this confectionary delight,  we’ve discovered a fantastic place to get your King Cakes this year!  Sucre, a delicious bakery located in the heart of New sucreOrleans’, serves astounding plated or boxed desserts – great for any time of day.

Sucre was kind enough to send us one of these cakes to sample.  What a treat!  The cake came packed in a festive UPS box and included Mardi Gras beads to make the gift a real pleasure to receive.  The cake itself was quite festive with traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple and gold adorning the top of the cake as well as edible glitter to give it a regal flair.   The cake itself came perfectly shipped and tasted as if it had just been baked.  Very moist, sweet and fun to eat!

“Our Take: For whatever reason, I’ve never had red-velvet cake. Besides completely delicious, it’s a gorgeous cake, it’s bright red color is perfect for an upcoming Valentine’s Day treat! The cake was fresh, tasted like a quality bakery cake that was just made hours before. The topping was a heavy cream cheese frosting that was very rich, I thought a touch overpowering, but the kids were completely fine with it! The outer edge of the cake was sprinkled with white chocolate that was a delicious addition along with the LOVE disc (belgian chocolate) I ate prior to my cake slice. ;) .”

“Oh no, I thought Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake would be very sweet but it’s not. It’s heavenly delicious with rich triple chocolates and the cake is so moist and hard to resist. They followed the recipe carefully with the correct measurement by adding finest ingredients correctly that suit our taste. When it’s arrived in an elegant gift box with air packs and ice gels to keep it secure and fresh, it comes with greeting card that we can personalize for any occasions like Valentine’s Day and so on.”

“…For my review, I received a triple chocolate brownie cake . This cake was perfect.  It was sweet, rich, and delicous. My whole family enjoyed digging into it, and it went REALLY fast. My mouth is watering just remembering how good it was. It even had a little chocolate heart that said “Love” in honor of Valentine’s Day. This triple chocolate brownie cake can stand on its own next to any of the bakeries I normally shop at. And since they are securely packaged and shipped, its easy to send them to loved ones that are far away.”

“…I sure got excited when the Cookies and Cream Cake arrived in my driveway!  Inside the cardboard box it arrived in was a gorgeous purple and gold lidded box that contained the gourmet confection.  It sat stored in my refrigerator for a few days.  I tried to wait until we had company over, but it just kept calling my name and I couldn’t resist any longer.  I mean after all, this cake is a fudgy brownie cake.  And it is to die for. On top of the delicious brownie lay OREO® cookie pieces, and the entire cake is drizzled with white chocolate and the finishing pièce de résistance is a heart-shaped plaque made of Belgian Chocolate inscribed with the word, ‘Love’.

Thanks to Laura at the New Age Mama and Heather at Penny Pinching Mama for reviewing us!!
