5 Ways to Surprise a Long Distance Mom on Mother’s Day

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

Bleeding heartsIs mom too far away for a visit this Mother’s Day? You can still make her feel special with one (or all of these) long distance surprises.

Now, we know what you’re thinking — What could be better than a card and some flowers? It’s a classic.

While that’s true, and mom would probably approve, it’s not exactly original or surprising. And doesn’t somebody as special as her deserve something special on Mother’s Day?

We think so. That’s why we’ve put together this list of five long distance Mother’s Day surprises for moms. Enjoy!

#1 – Frame a Picture

You and your mom have shared so many special moments together. Find a picture of one of those times when you were together, have it professionally framed, and send it to her. Guaranteed tear-jerker.

#2 – Cook Her Dinner

Your mom prepared countless meals for you. Return the favor by sending her a gift card to her favorite restaurant. You didn’t exactly make the meal, but you were part of it!

#3 – Send Her on a Spa Day

Every mom deserves a bit of pampering now and then. She pampered you, didn’t she? Give her the gift of a relaxing day at the spa to say thanks.

#4 – Clean Her House

Warning: This one’s not for moms that have trouble relinquishing control. But it could potentially make her day. Set up an appointment to have her house professionally cleaned by a local cleaning company. Combine with #3, and you’ve got a real winner!

#5 – Send Her a Cake

Some moms live for sweets. But chocolates are so predictable. Why not surprise her with a cake on Mother’s Day? We’ll deliver a gourmet cake right to her doorstep overnight, nationwide. Choose from over 25 different flavors.

Mom’s special day is almost here. And even though you can’t spend it with her, you can still make it a Mother’s Day to remember.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the great moms out there!

Say Congrats to Your College Grad!

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

Graduate tipping her hat to the cameraIt has been a challenging four years (or more), and the big day is finally here — graduation. Now’s the time to celebrate!

After sitting through what is sure to be an inspiring, albeit long, graduation ceremony, there’s no doubt your college grad will be ready to kick back and relax with friends and family.

Graduating from college is no easy feat and to have finally reached the finish line is an exciting accomplishment that deserves recognition — in the form of a killer party!

And what party is complete without a cake?

None that we’d want to be a part of, that’s for sure.

But, unfortunately, party planning doesn’t end with the cake. There’s still the matter of balloons and meat and cheese platters and drinks and plates and veggie trays and banners… This list goes on!

Why not take one task off your list, and let us handle the cake?

It’s easy. Just pick your college grad’s favorite cake flavor from our expansive list of congratulation cakes, write him or her a personal message, and send.

A gourmet cake can arrive overnight, nationwide at you or your grad’s doorstep, ready to be set out and enjoyed by a ravenous crew of college students and family members.

What if I can’t be there?

It’s unfortunate, but sometimes we just can’t make it to a graduation ceremony. But that’s no biggie!

You can still be a part of the after-party by providing dessert. Send your grad a cake as a sweet surprise and say how proud you are in the personalized message included with the delivery.

Cake is a guaranteed party favorite, and your college grad’s celebration wouldn’t be complete without it. Knock cake off your to-do list right now.

Halloween Cake Ideas!

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Easy to Make Halloween Cakes
Halloween is right around the corner and there are so many different decorations, costumes, and candies to choose from. While your local store may offer several creative choices for these items, it may be hard to find a
Halloween cake that is truly original. Luckily, there are several Halloween cakes that are easy to make at home. All of these Halloween cakes use cake mixes, frosting, and candy that can be found at your local grocery store. Also, these Halloween cakes are very easy to make and decorate.

Halloween Cake Ideas #1: Attack of the Giant Spiders Theme

This Halloween cake idea is great for kids and adults. All you need to make this Halloween cake is a chocolate cake mix (plus the ingredients to make it), chocolate frosting, coconut, green food coloring, three large gummy spiders, black M&Ms, and a small toy car. The first think you need to do is bake the cake as directed on the box. Let it cool and then frost it with the chocolate frosting. Next pour a bag of coconut into a bowl and add enough food coloring to make the coconut look like grass. Spread the coconut onto the frosting, leaving a path that looks like a road. On the path, place the M&Ms to make it look like asphalt. Next place the toy car on the road, at a slight angle. Then place one of the gummy spiders onto of the car. Place the other two spiders around the car, like they are surrounding it. If you wanted to make this Halloween cake even more creative, you could take red gel and make it looks like there was blood coming out of the car.

Win a Free Peanut Butter Mousse cake!

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

The Baby Lovin’ Mama LOVES Bake Me A Wish! cakes and reviewed our Peanut Butter Mousse.  We can only assume that from her son’s face that he really enjoyed the Peanut Butter Mousse Cake for his 2nd birthday!  Through Emilie’s blog, we’re giving away a free Peanut Butter Mousse to one of her lucky readers.  Click on her banner below to read her whole post and find out how you can win too!

“The chocolate cake was very moist and tasted great but what my entire family went nuts over was the decadent peanut butter mousse and fudge top. Super light and fluffy, the mousse was so sinful but oh so worth it. You definitely don’t need a large slice as the richness is best enjoyed in moderation. I remembered how wonderful the Belgian chocolate plaque tasted from our last Bake Me a Wish experience so I extremely disappointed when I found my husband and two little boys had eaten it all before I got back with the knife.  I guess they just couldn’t resist!”
