Happy Birthday Marines!

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

A hearty Happy Birthday to the Marine Corp that turns 236 this November! :) Thank you for all of your hard work in protecting the American People through many, many years. To be sure, the corp has defended our American freedoms since the Revolutionary war as the Continental Marine Corp in 1775!

The Marine Corp was officially enacted as a military force by John Adams in 1798 with Major William Burroughs and a corp of 500 privates.

If you know a Marine – don’t forget to say thank you! and Happy Birthday!

Honors from Iraq

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

As you know, 5% of our online sales are attributed to our partnership with Soldiers Angels to provide gourmet birthday cakes to deployed service members overseas as part of our Operation Birthday Cake program.  To date, we’ve sent thousands of cakes either from retail purchases or direct donations made possible by our shoppers who simply sent a cake to a loved one for their birthday.  Each and every day we receive soldier responses about how we’ve helped boost morale while our military personnel are fighting for our freedoms so far from home.

Today, we received a fine honor from Cpt. Dan over at the 14th Trans. Battalion at the Joint Base Balad, Iraq.  There is no greater feeling than to receive recognition for the good works you are doing; this wonderful command team encourages to keep on sending cakes and keep on letting our service members know they are appreciated and valued by their citizens back at home.

Even Leathernecks love our cakes!

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

I recently received a delicious chocolate cake from my girlfriend through your company. I was a little apprehensive at first about eating a cake that spent a couple days flying in the belly of an aircraft across the Atlantic. Well, let me tell you, this thing was delicious. I couldn’t believe that it was still moist in the middle. I would like to thank you for taking the time to remember those of us who are serving our grateful Nation abroad. We are truly thankful for your patriotism. The attached pictures were taken on my Birthday on August 24. The Marines in the pictures have been in Al Asad, Iraq since January 2009. Thanks again.
