The Perfect Cake for Independence Day

Wednesday, June 25th, 2014

How to Send a Cake to a Deployed SoldierSend a cake to somebody in the U.S., and we’ll send a second cake to a soldier serving overseas!

Independence Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than by sending someone you love a deluxe chocolate brownie cake?

That’s a pretty delicious way to enjoy the holiday! But what if part of your order also went toward sending a second gourmet cake overseas to an active service soldier?

Just imagine — you could be celebrating your freedom this year by sending your thanks to a person that’s working to make it possible. You can’t beat that!

How It Works

When you purchase the Freedom Cake for a recipient here in the United States, Bake Me a Wish! in partnership with Soldiers’ Angels will deliver a gourmet cake to a soldier serving overseas.

The Freedom Cake features a decadent layer of deluxe chocolate brownie thickly coated in a smooth and creamy fudge frosting and adorned with sprinkles on top and bittersweet chocolate shavings on the sides.

This gourmet treat also includes a special card informing the recipient that a cake has been sent to a soldier in their name alongside an imprint of the American flag.

Head on over to our Freedom Cakes page to get started.

Know Somebody Serving Overseas?

If there’s a specific person you’d like to thank this Independence Day, you can also send a cake directly to a deployed military service member through our Operation: Birthday Cake program.

The cake doesn’t have to be for their birthday — it can be for any occasion of your choice. However, as an added bonus, 5% of your order will be contributed to the Operation: Birthday Cake program, which donates birthday cakes each month to our valued service men and women overseas.

Every soldier deserves a little something sweet on their special day, and you can help make it happen with your contributions.

Here’s to the men and women that protect our freedom everyday, and happy birthday, America!

Love of Chocolate Event Honors Families of Deployed Soldiers

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

This past weekend, Bake Me A Wish! had the pleasure of honoring families of deployed service members at the “Love of Chocolate” party in North Dakota in coordination with our good friend, Shelle Michaels, National Communications Officer for Soldiers Angels. Shelle has been a great ally in our effort to show deployed service members that they are not forgotten by us at home through our Operation Birthday Cake Program. The event was also brought together with Colonel Michael and was attended by David Sprynczynatyk, Major General and Adjunct General of the North Dakota National Guard as well as Lt. Governor Drew Wrigley.

This year, Bake Me A Wish was able to bring some additional smiles to the Love of Chocolate event as Bake Me A Wish cakes were handed out to family members deployed soldiers. Take a quick look at those faces below – happy to have some chocolate and know that we’re working to support their family members overseas.

Honors from Iraq

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

As you know, 5% of our online sales are attributed to our partnership with Soldiers Angels to provide gourmet birthday cakes to deployed service members overseas as part of our Operation Birthday Cake program.  To date, we’ve sent thousands of cakes either from retail purchases or direct donations made possible by our shoppers who simply sent a cake to a loved one for their birthday.  Each and every day we receive soldier responses about how we’ve helped boost morale while our military personnel are fighting for our freedoms so far from home.

Today, we received a fine honor from Cpt. Dan over at the 14th Trans. Battalion at the Joint Base Balad, Iraq.  There is no greater feeling than to receive recognition for the good works you are doing; this wonderful command team encourages to keep on sending cakes and keep on letting our service members know they are appreciated and valued by their citizens back at home.

Friday, September 17th, 2010

Last week, Bake Me A Wish! had the honor of donating cakes for the retirement party of Brig. A true hero, as evident in his dedication to our armed forces and his desire to help others succeed, we salute you General Martin.  Thank you for a lifetime of service.

A Reason To Celebrate in Iraq

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

I recently received one of your cakes for my birthday that a family friend ordered for me and wanted to send you a picture of our mini-celebration. The cake arrived in great condition and we devoured it that same day!

I’d also like to reciprocate by giving thanks to you and your company’s employees (along with Soldier’s Angels) for your dedicated service to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. You guys don’t have to do this for us yet you do and all of us out here really appreciate your efforts.

Keep baking those cakes and thanks again!
