For some, the month of August means that summer is almost over and it’s back to school season. It may seem that the Fourth of July was only yesterday, yet Labor Day is creeping closer and closer. Some people who have had enough of the sweltering weather may already be looking forward to fall and all the fun fall holidays ahead. It is unfair to overlook August and not appreciate all it has to offer. We’ve rounded up some family-friendly activities and ideas that help end the summer on a high note.

Every month is family fun month, but in August it’s official! Quality time with your family is so important. Head to the park or the beach with your loved ones and soak up that August sun. If you’d prefer to stay indoors, have a game night or movie night. We’ll provide the snacks. This month is also National Picnic Month – whether you celebrate inside (with the AC) or outside, it’ll be a fun way to have a family meal.

Try something new this August! Earlier in the month we launched a brand-new Coconut Cream Cake and Tres Leches Cake! These flavors are unique and are great desserts for a cake connoisseur who wants to be wowed. Make special occasions extra special with something new and exciting. Try one of these cakes today!

August means it’s time to start thinking about back to school. Your child may not want summer to end, but you can soften the blow with some back to school cupcakes. Present your child’s teacher with a gift such as cookies or brownies – they’ll appreciate your A+ effort. If your son or daughter is going away to college, let them know how much you’ll miss them. Sending them a care package is sure to lift their spirits and give them the encouragement they need to keep studying and acing their exams. If they’re celebrating a birthday while on campus, make sure to have a birthday cake delivered to make their day.

Fall is rapidly approaching. With these activities, we can look back on August and consider it a month well spent.
